Visual Identity of Szabadkígyós

I consider myself a lucky person because I had the chance to spend my idyllic childhood growing up in Szabadkígyós. Therefore, when the council of Szabadkígyós announced a logo design tender, I knew I had to apply.

When I was thinking about the concept, and looking for the building blocks of the visuals, I looked for my strongest impressions, ilnfuences and fondest memories of the village. I realized, that my love for the nature and animals is deeply rooted in my childhood, and how close to nature I grew up thanks to the village life.

Nowadays, the modern tourism of the village is not only built around the restored buildings and park of the Wenckheim Castle, but also around the natural resources of the local nature reserve. The modern turistical solutions aim to preserve the historical heritage while keeping up with the expectations of the 21st century.

Along these thoughts, I chose the modern, progressive way of thinking which is the expectation of present-day tourism; the importance of the local nature reserves; and the coat of arms; which represents the historical past of the village, as the three main pillars of the visual identity.

My application got shortlisted, but at the end the tender has been withdrawn without announcing the winner unfortunately. Anyways, I enjoyed working on these graphics a lot and would like to share it now!

Thank you for watching!
