Golden - Brasília

The brief was to design a set of posters to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the founding of Brazil’s capital – Brasília. In 1955 Brasília did not exist and was built in 5 years! Oscar Niemeyer, a leading architect, designed many of the buildings, all of which display innovative and beautiful architecture.

The inspiration for these posters comes from the paths in Oscar’s architecture. This creates a really elegant style and interesting composition.
“I am not attracted to straight angles or to the straight line, hard and inflexible, created by man. I am attracted to free-flowing, sensual curves. The curves that I find in the mountains of my country, in the sinuousness of its rivers, in the waves of the ocean, and on the body of the beloved woman. Curves make up the entire Universe, the curved Universe of Einstein”
