PANTONE's Color of the Year always sets design and fashion trends for months to come. Color or the Year 2022, Very Peri, is an exotic blend of dynamic blue and violet red undertones that reflects the transformation the world is going through right now. This happiest and warmest of all the blue hues merges digital and physical lives together, inviting us to look optimistically into the future. Very Peri inspired us so much that we build the landing page veryperi.me which is our own interpretation of this color.
We’ve started from the team workshop just to discuss the idea and finalize the concept. Our goal was not only to present some cool Very Peri objects such as furniture and decoration, but also to tell the story how to experience the color in non-material way, through sounds, smells and touch.
The initial plan was to build the landing page within 2 weeks, however we failed to do that due to large number of animations we wanted to cover. In the end the process was as follows - two days after the workshop to finalize the visual direction and create design for the desktop version, about a week to implement a static LP for the desktop and few days more for RWD (the designs for tablet and mobile view were created in the meantime) and another week for animations and improvements. Still, we were able to deliver the landing page in about three weeks which is a great result.
From the very beginning we knew the leading color was the Very Peri blue, yet to make the landing page more playful and contrasting, we brought to the palette a few tones more. Also the typography is worth to mention, as we decided to use the PP Neue Machina typeface that boosts monospace/geometric type features as well as apparent and deep ink traps in its heavier weights, which matches the cheerful content and makes the whole interface powerful and vibrant.
