In this project, I redesigned the famous dremel tool.
I started the design process by sketching different shapes. As this tool is handheld, ergonomics are very important. The final design is composed of two conical shapes which are reversed to eachother. The top cone is for precise tooling, while the base for rough tasks.
After sketching, the dremel was modelled in Siemens NX 8.5 and rendered in Showcase.
The materials used, are aluminium and yellow rubber padding for extra comfort.
The tool can be replaced by a wrench and a LED light enlights when operating.
The rotation speed can be adjusted by the slider.
