New Era - Repreve

Aligning with the celebration of Earth Day, New Era approached Bolder to create a sequence for their new REPREVE® range. Repreve is a sustainable fabric created from plastic bottles, that features across many well known styles and brands.

New Era collaborated with Bolder for our CGI capabilities and stylistic story telling to create a trend led sequence of shots that represent the Repreve process from start to finish in a unique, abstracted way. Our production process for the project ran from story-boarding, CGI design & modelling, fabric simulations, texturing, lighting, editing, retouching and grading.

Recyclables are collected and taken to material recovery facilities and brought to the REPREVE® bottle processing center where they are sorted, cleaned and chopped into bottle flakes. The flake is melted and extruded into repreve chip, which is then spun into repreve performance recycled yarn. The yarn is either woven or knit into fabric that goes into making the New Era hat - the amount of recycled bottles used to develop a New Era hat ranges from 2-5. In addition to keeping bottles out of landfills and oceans, Repreve production uses less energy and water, while also producing fewer greenhouse gas emissions compared to manufacturing virgin synthetic fibers.
