Modern public library should be a place open for people. This concept bases on splitting functions into 2 categories: loud and silent. Most of the activities happens in the common, loud (white) space. Only a few of functions (like reading rooms) need a closed, silent space (grey). 

 

This space structure allow for mixing people together. There are more meeting points - there is more life in the library.
