The regional connection from Mäntyharju to the vicinity.
Social dynamics influence the spatial dynamics. Therefore, we can revitalise the old suburb area to a new lively community. I consider to create a new kind of business in Mäntyharju, in order to attract young students from Mikkeli and Lahti to move in here. Why? if we offer the accommodation and the workspace with an affordable rentals, the international students in Mikkeli can live in true Finn condition and also maintain the holiday accommodation for the temporary citizens, who just live in Mäntyharju during summer time.
This concept derives from my own interest to live with Finns in countryside. However, it is complicated with the deteriorated urban structure in Finland.

IMPLEMENT A NEW LIFESTYLE IN THE OLD URBAN STRUCTURE
The concept is suggest the smart community in the abandoned warehouses near the lake. The old train station can be developed into a new transit point, so that commuters can use the public transportation to reach other bigger cities, such as Mikkeli or Lahti.
