Adobe Student Showcase

I was selected as one of three students from the UK to be part of the Adobe Student Showcase. The purpose of the Showcase is to promote Adobe Creative Cloud by highlighting the ways that young creatives use Adobe products.

After an initial interview, I spent a day with a team from Torpedo Group and Elrose Media, shooting a film about me and my personal work, both at my college Central Saint Martins in King's Cross and my studio in West London.

The featured project is The River, a screenprinted booklet containing a story about a walk along the river Thames close to my home. The film shows the thinking behind the project, the design process, and also includes footage from the river where I found the inspiration for the design.

The final film went live on the Adobe website in December 2013, and has also been featured on the Adobe Students UK Facebook page.

Below are some screen shots and quotes from the final film. Watch it here!
"Hi, my name's Marina. I study Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins."
"What made me want to get into design was a record I bought when I was 12 years old. I looked at it and realised that everything around me has been designed. There's a thought and a reason behind everything."
"My favourite Adobe Creative Cloud tool is definitely InDesign, because I have such a love for typography."
"A big source of inspiration for me in London is the river, so I wrote a story about a walk that I made along the river where I live."
"I sketched it out in my sketchbook and then brought the text into Illustrator and InDesign, and laid it out in the flowing shape of a river."
"The cover was screenprinted and combined with digital prints of the text. In the end I stitched it all together, so it was a fusion between the handmade and the digital."
Some photographs from the project are shown below.
