This is a piece I created for my concept illustration class. The assignment was to create a movie poster inspired by the iconic Mondo posters. I chose the movie Hereditary (2018) Because I am a big fan of horror, and I loved the art direction in this movie. I chose to stick with a limited color palette, mostly cool colors with a pop of warm to add interest to the piece. The font is custom and completely painted from scratch. The background is grey marker on paper that I scanned in and added color to in photoshop. Below is a work in progress shot of the poster before adding the rest of the color and final details.
