Greek mythology is personally one of my favorite themes for its incredible richness and variety, it's stories speak of fantastic creatures and hybrids, magic both good and evil, and powerful gods that can error and sin as humans do.

The tale of Apollo and Daphne tells that this great god of beauty and arts fell madly in love with a nynph do to a spell cast by Eros, god of love, whom also bewitched her made into absolutely hating him. Due to this situation, Apollo chased her frantically until she could not bare his presence any mor and called onto the gods for help. Zeus heard her cry and saved her by transforming her body into a tree, losing her soul forever right in the arms of the heartbroken Apollo.

I emphasize on the metamorphosis of Daphne,  a moment both of intense phisical pain but at the same time of emotional peace and relief she so longed for.
