Perpetua Poster - GRPH223
Statement
These posters are based off of the story of Perpetua as well as the creator of her respective font, Eric Gill. Perpetua was a Christian Martyr who, along with another woman, was sentenced to death by means of wild animals in an arena for the public to view. After the animals failed to kill them, they were both beheaded. The poster on the right represents Perpetua being beheaded. The other two posters were more of me having a bit of fun and not trying to represent anything, just trying to see how I could form letters into nice shapes with white/black space. Eric Gill was a religious man who did typography, sculpting, engraving, and writing. Despite him having certain religious views, his behavior contrasted - he was a very abusive person in multiple forms to his family, pets, and others.
