CHAI-NAAMA
(conceptualization, styling, creative direction & photography)

A 1980’s sentimental portrayal of a woman who derives her purpose and strength from being a nurturing homemaker. She runs a busy day doing all the chores around the house. She thrives in her feminine energy as she dresses up during the early evening-time, waiting for her husband to return from work. She indulges in her hobby of sewing and embroidery while she waits for him. As the time for her husband to return, comes closer, she brews up some tea for herself and him; all the while romanticising how much in love she is with him and of course, tea.
The series incorporates songs from retro bollywood movies like "Teen Deviyaan", "Pyaasa", "Balika Badhu" and "Buddha mil gaya" to set the mood.

Below is the mood board and the poem that inspired this series.
