Introducing TΞMPLUM, my new sci-fi art series. This is my most personal project which I consider to be the pinnacle of my art at the moment.
Medium: Mix of 2D digital painting and 3D modeling.
This series of landscapes, keyframe artworks and animations revolves around life in Templum — a fictional mega city located on the colony planet Neo Pangea in the 22nd century.
However, this is not going to be a classic cyberpunk "high tech low life" dystopian world building. Instead, I want to create the kind of a world I myself would like to live in. Pleasant enough, but far from perfect. I chose to focus more on the inner feelings of the characters, explore the themes of melancholy, dreams and comforting loneliness in a highly populated city and nostalgia for times that never happened. Call it Dreampunk or whatever you like.
Templum city is defined by the complex of kilometer-high structures, built among the alien mountainy terrain with waterfalls and vegetation that doesn't require sunlight. Districts are divided by the levels of height, which makes each of them a kind of city of their own, with millions of people, whether it’s the ground level or the one that reaches 3 km above the sea. The lore will be described piece by piece with every next artwork.
Highly inspired by retro futuristic artists like Syd Mead, John Berkey, Charles Schridde, Dreampunk music and Wong Kar Wai films, I've finally defined my own style and direction I want to go with my art. You're welcome to see it through. The project will be updating constantly.

Meet Yume and Milky, two main characters from the series. Yume is a mixed media artist who has cut all ties with everyone and emigrated from Earth in 2120 to start a new life about 500 light years away in the city of Templum, along with her cat Milky. Living a nomadic life, renting a new apartment once every month and not keeping new people around for long, Yume is constantly looking for something new to inspire her, and the city definitely has a lot to offer. However, it's never enough to satisfy her creativity needs. She's trying to create her best work ever but as you know, an artist's best work is always yet to come. Milky is not the type of a cat who can sit still as well. No one can get in his way when he wants to wander around the city's high levels in the middle of the night.

Probably my most popular piece up to date. And the one that inspired me to start working on Templum series. At that time (2018) I was fascinated with the music by the amazing "2814" and just wanted to create the mood that suited the best for it. Less dystopia, more coziness and dreamy vibes. Figured it should be animated, so this one was my first video experiment, which worked! 130k views on YT, 20k upvotes on reddit, one of the top rated vids on Wallpaper Engine, which means this video is a wallpaper of tens of thousands users. 2:00 AM became somewhat a classic for me.
