Bene! is an application that provides a window of transparency into food origin, eco-impact and social impact. When the user first launches the app they are guided by an onboarding session introducing them to the value system. They can find these badges associated with restaurants all over the app, so they can easily recognize the ones they share values with and filter according to their interest.
The user is met with an interactive menu where clicking on each dish shows the description, price, origin information and producer.
They can also review restaurants and dishes by going to the restaurant profile and adding their own comments and photos.
Finally, they can stay up to date with their favourite restaurant and discover new places through the news section. The app will send notifications every time a restaurant adds news.
Research and Development Context
The service and its features developed follow research insights and the opportunity areas found during the sense-making phases. We worked on the main characteristics for answering users’ main needs but we also found some secondary interesting potential development features.
The main one would be the exploration of the journey of a restaurant requesting to get featured. This is the other side of the service being reliable, where the goal is to encourage restaurants to become more transparent.
Another feature would be users initiating a request for a restaurant to be added to the list.
Finally, another potential development of the project could be finding ways to enhance communication within the app among users.
