In 2019 I was commissioned to do an illustration for @natgeoabudhabi annual calendar for 2019, focusing on ‘Planet or Plastic?’
An initiative aimed at raising awareness of this challenge and reducing the amount of single-use plastic that enters in the world's oceans.
12 artists from the 12 countries most responsible for the 9 million tons of plastic being dumped into the world's oceans every year, embarked on a unique partnership with National Geographic Abu Dhabi to drive awareness of our planet’s plastic pollution crisis.
They dedicated one month of its 2019 calendar to each artist from those countries suffering the most.
My illustration for the month of November, focusing on South Africas oceans and the impact micro plastics have on marine and bird life.
