BORING TO BRILLIANT

The brief was to select a boring, functional branded household product - then make consumers notice it again. We had to think along the lines of bleach, kitchen and bathroom cleaners, dish cloths, furniture polish or other everyday household products. The choice was ours, but it should be an existing product that’s generally available in supermarkets but doesn’t currently do enough to stand out on the shelf. 
The product I chose was Pledge surface cleaner as a product to be refreshed and be noticed again. The concept behind these designs was called 'Calming the Nerves' - The concept is based on when cleaning a house or cleaning in general can sometimes can be therapeutic in which can be represented in the packaging and graphic. A great way to represent this ideology is watercolour. This portrayal of watercolour can suggest the process of this activity.
