Chillies Playing Cards
My second Kickstarter project, fully funded within two days and adding three new decks into collections across the globe. This campaign was my way of thanking fans and backers who supported my first deck.
Within the depths of The Pico De Fuego Y Trueno lies a fortune favoured by the Maya.
Forged in the mountain range of the Sierra Madre, our journey begins with a single capsicum seed touched by the god of fire. This pip began to grow, engulfed in the magma rich soil it matured quickly and the fruit it bared cursed the mouths of those who dared to eat it. Mesoamerica's Chilli Pepper was born.
Chillies are printed on the iconic Slim-Line stock with Premium B9 finish by Cartamundi, a high quality finish that gives it's smooth feel. Not for the faint hearted, designed for the brave.
Court cards are standard based with an added twist of spice. Each Card hides capsicum inspired flourishes and vignettes to keep things heated.
Within each Original Chillies tuck, you will find hidden influences from Mexican Design and Maya Culture. Each tuck in the series reveals part of a hexaptych image that celebrates our favourite spicy fruit. Just don't add these chillies to your food.

When it came to designing the back I worked to my strengths and created a monochromatic repeated pattern - something I've specialised in for 5 years. With broken borders to give fans that extra spicy look.
