Context
The Indie Spirit brand decided to change their packaging and switch from a glass bottle to a can, due to a global issue caused by the pandemic: a global glass container supply crisis. The original glass bottle suppliers weren't able to provide the amounts necessary to keep the Indie operation running. On the other hand the Indie Spirit brand wasn't able to pay for factory painted cans neither, so we had to adapt and use Shrink-wrap labels to print and add on the essence of the brand to the can.

Goal
Despite using one of the cheapest printing techniques on the market (shrink-wrap labels), Indie Spirit wanted to expand its target audience and also retain its high quality look & feel.

Solution
We took advantage of the shrink-wrap labeling to fill the entire packaging area with illustrations that could connect with a young audience. We also played around with the transparent quality of the shrink-wrap label and the reflective quality of the can, to play around and make areas with a metallic finish and areas with a matte finish, by applying an opaque white base before putting in the colours.
