Butterfly Knits

Artfully crafted using the SilverReed Double Bed Machine, this piece is a testament to meticulous craftsmanship. The pattern, meticulously devised, elegantly emulates the delicate wings of a butterfly, capturing the essence of overlapping scales with precision. Employing the intricate art of pointelle and employing the finesse of transfer stitches using dual-layered needles, the technique employed stands as a testament to ingenuity.

Intriguingly, the chosen materials, a fusion of merino wool fiber and mohair, were carefully selected to evoke a sense of softness and tactile allure. These fibers intertwine, forming a canvas that not only replicates the natural splendor of butterfly wings but also engages the sense of touch, inviting an immersive sensory experience.
This sample elegantly captures the graceful motion of butterfly wings as they gracefully flutter through the air. Each wing, delicate yet possessing its own distinctive charm, seems to engage in a captivating dance.

Additionally handcrafted using the SilverReed Double Bed Knitting Machine.
Through the incorporation of the tucked technique, I elongated the float stitches, thereby not only portraying movement but also creating a play of varied textures. The resulting effect not only visually signifies the wings' intricate motion but also offers a tactile dimension to the observer's experience.
