Fones Alley serves as an allegory for the physical and mental transition from RISD to Brown from the first year in the program to the second. The physical journey through Fones Alley represents the anxieties attached to being a member of both communities, while having to constantly oscillate between the two. In an attempt to mitigate the collective intensity of these anxieties, I took to create a simultaneous viewing of the passage from a uniform angle. Applying isometric projections to each building in the Alley, RISD and Brown, allowed for the projected sides to be appropriated into fantastical configurations. The uniform angles formed by the sides allowed for an objective viewing of the scene, and paradoxically lessened the intensity of each individual issue.
