Urban Furniture for parks

Furniture
year: 2013
Curitiba has an old park called Passeio Público, it houses different species of birds, restaurant and cultural activities. It’s frequented mainly by people who live at the metropolitan area, but travels downtown everyday to work. Our team has developed research involving their regulars to design strategies that improve the experience of staying on the park.

The park doesn't offer spaces for sitting or have a meal comfortably
and a common habit of the regulars is lie on the grass to rest at lunchtime.

After the prototype production, we returned to the park where people could test it. We left the urban furniture in two different
locations to observe how people would react, and for our surprise in every occasion people stayed on it at least forhalf an our.
