Employer Branding for Flipkart

The Flipkart Experience
Detailing the brand experience through an extensive brand building exercise.

This is an extensive project which I undertook as my final diploma project at the National Institute of Design, under the guidance of Rupesh Vyas and with a design agency, Rezonant Design Services, Bangalore.

The main aim of the project was to develop a complete employer brand experience for an ecomerce company, Flipkart based in Bangalore, India. Flipkart felt the need to develop an employer brand for themselves in order to share their work culture and expectations with the potential employees and also to simplify and improve their on boarding experience for the newly recruited employees.

In order to achieve this, we undertook a vast brand building exercise to identify the various outcomes and hen develop them one by one. Below is a detailed overview of the brand building exercise and a few snippets of the brand experience designed to make the on boarding experience more engaging.
An infographic designed to narrate the story of Flipkart over the years.
Initial brainstorms that illustrate the requirements from the employer brand.
Below are a set of three themes developed after an indepth understanding of Flipkart's needs and work culture around which various collaterals could be developed.
A detailed mindmap that illustrates the vast scope of the project and the complete brand experience.

The Careers Website

One of the major deliverables of this project was a careers site that used the brand theme to convey the work culture of Flipkart to its potential candidates.

Designing this website also took a lot of research in trends in website design, a study of the competetive careers websites and the basics of wesite design and development. This website was developed using a content managment system powered by Wordpress for the ease of updating from he users end.
Setting the benchmarks for the various aspects of the website before the design process.

Design elements chosend based on the brand's guidelines.

After the final visual design of all the pages of the website, the design was handed over to the developer to be finished and uploaded. This was an extensive process that invloved working alonside the developer and also learning how to code side by side to make the the final implementation of te design as per the original.

Below is a glimpse of how the details of the design was conveyed to the developer.
