This is the result of my first research project undertaken at the National Institute of Design, under the guidance of Shilpa Das and the mentorship of Immanuel Suresh.

The main theme of the project was chosen os 'Subcultures' after an enriching discssion with the classroom. After an indepth research about the theme, it was decided to further narrow the focus to a particular topic (Fusion) which was then studied. Further having gathered enough information a focus area was chosen(Calligrames) that could be used and ideated upon to develop innovative applications.

The final outcome was a concept an application for touch devices that served as an educational aid for children.
Notes from an initial classroom discussion for chosing the theme of the project.
A brainstorm that layouts the understanding of the main theme of the project.
A step by step detailing of the concept to identify a focus are.
An overview of the topic that illustrates the understanding of the topic- Calligrams.
A few examples that illustrate the use of calligrams in children's books.
Identifying the idea for the final outcme along with other possible outcomes.
The final idea was to use the research on calligrams to create an interactive digital tool that uses the concept of calligrams as a tool/medium to enhance understanding and grasping of information. This digital tool could be developed into an application meant for touch devices like the tablet or the touch-phone.
A detailed game flow that explains how the game would work.
Initial explorations for the visual style.
Detailed explorations for the visual style of the game.
In order to refine the user interaction, low fideity screens were developed that mapped the various game screens and their interaction with the player.
The final visual style.
