In team of 5, we took part in OzCHI Student Design Challenge 2012, a 24-hour international level Interaction Design competition for students. It comprised of 62 teams from all over the world.

The problem statement was to design the future of email.

Email has changed its original vision of simple asynchronous communication mechanism to core application for digital information management, in turn acting as an application that lets you get a glance of all your information at once.We proposed a solution based on visualization techniques to make the email system more effective. We also suggested some add-ons to make it more effiicient.

Methodology followed:

First the problem statement was brainstormed upon for hours. Different areas/groups that could be targeted were identified. After sessions of discussions the target group was narrowed down.We then started off with the secondary research to understand the existing email clients, their pros and cons. We gathered insights into their email usage. Towards the end of the session, an idea was finalized that would make the emailing system more user friendly and effective.
