School Girl
For this project in my graphics class, I wanted to look at Japanese school girls and how in common it is for them to be sexualized and used for profit, I wanted to express how high school girls are being prayed on my big industries and older men because of the way they look and how vulnerable they can feel due to school and family problems and dangerous it is for them especially in Tokyo where there is the ‘School girl street’ where mostly older men go on paid dates and dinners with young girls for love readings and in some underground places more, these drawing, sketches and finished pieces of what I want the opening page of a comic based on a story of a high school girl who has to walk down this street would to look like, for this I looked into the popular style of kogal style or コギャル for the girl and for the poster itself I wanted to follow some rules of a 90's anime and music poster.
I wanted to look into how a lot of Japanese girls would look like following the style of kogal girl, I wanted the main character to be much brighter in complexion and hair and have a much more youthful feel to her compared to the girl who is in the industry as a pop star, I wanted to show how similar the girls are but also how different they can look due to the conditions of being an underground school girl pop star, giving her a more tired look as if her youth is being taken away from her while having to maintain an innocent look.
