We wanted to pay tribute to The Star Wars sequel trilogy, especially, to our favorite character: Ben Solo aka Kylo Ren. So we've made a series of posters about him. Two per film: With and Without his helmet. In order to show both the Dark and Light Side of him.
An exercise in synthesis and cuteness. We hope you like it as much as we did making it.
To make these posters we create a special grid from Kilo Ren's kyber crystal, which has been bled by the Dark Side. We've created a diamond-shaped structure that we will used as a base for all the posters. Also, as we wanted to show the character's duality between Kylo Ren (Dark Side) and Ben Solo (Light Side), we based on a complementary grid that was the opposite of the diamond shape, that is, a square. Being this way:
Also, we wanted to show the journey from Kylo Ren to Ben Solo in the trilogy. To do this we adjusted the color palette to show his instability from the first movie (yellow), his fall to the Dark Side (red) and his resurgence to the Light Side (blue) in the next two.
Giving each pair of posters their own identity, which is not only better reflected in the palette of the illustration, but is also evident in the different adaptations of the logo.
