THE (IM)POSSIBLE LIST
School Work 2013
The Impossible List is a collection of collections. In this first volume we present five small publications about how human perception can vary depending on the colour, the background and the line value of a certain bi-dimensional representation of an impossible figure. Based on an article present in the Sage Encyclopaedia of Perception five very singular impossible objects were chosen. To the bi-dimensional and linear illusion it was decided to add another perception “trick”: the colour, for which we used Josef Albers’ guide on the influence of colour on the visual system: Interaction of Colour.
What we are trying to offer to the viewer is more than a look, but rather a thought on how limited the human perception of the world actually is, and how restricted by the “surroundings” it can be.
