Project Time Frame: 9 Days
We then decided on a 70's esque aesthetic for the chair. Since the original chair was a very simple, bland, mass produced product, we wanted to make our chair as individualized as possible. Our caring one of a kind patchwork aesthetic reflects that choice. We chose fabric samples, and proceeded to sew them together and cut into the form of the chair. One piece for the back portion of the chair, and another for the bottom.
We then began the upholstery process by applying foam to the seat, and then attaching the fabric patches to cover said foam. We then connected the finished pieces to the chair itself. As for the wheels, we painted them to imitate billiard balls as to add to the 70's "grandma" like aesthetic.
