«FROM A MERMAID TO A HUMAN OR THE STORY OF A BIG ENVIRONMENTAL DISASTER»
Future. The actions and images described in this post take place in another fictional story and universe of mine. I hope it's dystopian.
It has become unbearable for marine inhabitants to be in large reservoirs clogged with humans. Black spots of toxic waste are clearly visible already from the shores, clean water is becoming less and less. Many inhabitants of the seabed decide on a desperate act, to join the ranks of those who destroyed what was once created by nature.
Mermaids go first.
The marine press, namely the "Mermaid" magazine, releases strange information on transformation into a person. Now everyone can change any flaw in themselves, save their own life, but at the same time lose their identity, living on land.
People here decided to profit by deceiving sea creatures. Not knowing the consequences, many mermaids, sincerely believing in this, decided to take this step. They were deceived, many were taken away for their own benefit, the extraction of "tears" that give eternal life.
Many of those who agreed to this, turned into people and became part of a larger system. The rest waited for a sad end.
I think everyone can find something for themselves in this work. I suggest that we all think more often about how we live, what actions we take in life and what consequences they have in the end.
