A projection mapping font
Fragmental is a tetrahedron based geometric sculpture – designed as a surface for typographic animations.
Using the projection mapping technique we get an illusion of depth and perspective that gives
the different kinds of letters a new dimension in space and time.
Sint Lucas University College of Art and Design presented me the task to create a font machine.
A machine that on it’s own creates a unique font. I have chosen light as my medium for creating the 26 characters
of the alphabet. By using the projection mapping technique where the light acts as the medium for the machine
I was able to bring the full alphabet to life.
Jean-Michel Verbeeck, founder of Konstruktiv, introduced me to the mapping technique.
