It can also be worn as a sports jacket, like with chinos, trousers or jeans. The only thing that a tweed jacket should not be worn for is a black-tie event, although sometimes you may be able to get away with wearing a dark navy or black one. The Argyll or (Argyle) is perfect for social or business events with a dash of formality, but not too much.
