It's a tripod stool which is made of two basic materials: Bamboo and polyester resin. When combined they create a composite that features a beautiful look. It brings good mechanical proprieties such as lightness and resistance.
The importance of the existence of composite materials is the obtention of proprieties that couldn’t be reached with isolated materials. Therefore, a composite is made by the combination of two materials, generating a new one with new proprieties.
The bamboo Stool is made entirely by a composite enforced with fiber, and were developed exclusively for it, using bamboo and resin. Bamboo is natural, light, resistent, cheap and holds excelent chemical and physical proprieties. For the stool, it was sliced in fibers, wattled and than added to the resin. The main advantages of polyester resin is that it can be made with low temperature and pressure conditions, it accepts mixing with various other materials and doesn’t demand making expensive molds.
