We should all be familiar with the rapid growth of Taiwan’s sharing economy. Whether sharing bicycles, electric scooters, or cars, people are welcoming these sharing models as their interfaces become easier to use and the support systems more inclusive. So when deciding on transportation, picking a short-term ride that is practical and fun instead of “ownership” to reach your destination is now a new trend.

In addition, there are more and more sharing platforms such as GoShare, Wemo, iRent, etc., choosing to replace traditional gasoline vehicles with electric cars and scooters. The promotion of shared transportation can reduce the use of private vehicles and alleviate the shortage of parking spaces. Secondly, it can effectively open up urban area and save energy, reduce carbon, and decrease air pollution.

The think team was honored to assist China Motor’s start-up team in establishing Taiwan’s newest and first “shared electric scooter platform” brand. It was a challenging task in the Taiwan market, with the boom of shared bicycles and shared scooters, to allow everyone understand the convenience of “electric kick scooters” and how to differentiate them from other vehicles in the field of “micro-mobility.”

Naming & Logo Design

oloo is a new type of shared transport platform and is the first electric kick scooter rental service in Taiwan. The brand naming concept “O” of oloo is derived from the image of wheels rolling. The “multiple Os” represent not only the two wheels now on kick scooters but can also be extended to apply to China Motor’s four-wheeled vehicles in the future. The brand will be able to provide diversified vehicle services to consumers. The “L” is in English cursive, represents the unique experiences of people riding on kick scooters, and suggests how the overall brand emphasizes providing consumers with more personable services. The homophonic “Olu” in Taiwanese translates to everything can be ridden (riding), allowing the brand vision to extend to a range of design languages through its ingenious naming.

The font for the cursive “L” in oloo gives it a dynamic look. The multi-track lines in the design represent tire tracks made on the road, which means that the riders will have a smooth traveling experience through the oloo brand’s vehicles. The brand’s standard colors are dark green, light green, gray, black, and white, which represent calmness, stability and safety. Of course, they are also the highly recognizable colors of our IP dinosaurs!

Tagline & Brand Values

The English slogan “roll to everywhere” is a simple and straightforward expression that conveys brand functionality and concepts. Consumers can easily access the various vehicle services provided by the oloo brand’s sharing platform anywhere. "Laziness is now alright!" The Chinese brand slogan depicts the humorous spirit that the brand wants to convey. The brand values are listed as follows:

Don’t be afraid to take it easy! oloo is the first electric kick scooter operator in Taiwan. It cleverly combines electric motors and will further include multiple vehicles to create a complete sharing platform in the future. It uses the most ingenious technology and user-friendly interfaces to build a cool and efficient commuter life for a wide range of users!

oloo transforms rigid urban transportation and will set up docks near popular areas offering simple one-click rental and return and online customer service to answer all inquiries. The considerate services allow you to avoid sweat and effort and have the most stress-free routine. Commuting to work or going on a date suddenly becomes a short vacation that you will look forward to!

When the wheels turn, they not only cover distance, but also lead you to possibilities in the future. Through oloo, the city will be filled with the footprints of green energy applications, and the relationship between people and society will be connected. So let’s go and make our lives better!

Brand Characters

In addition, think has developed lovable IP roles that integrate the brand into our lives and offer interactive experiences. Our brand mascots are extinct “dinosaurs” which is a humorous contrast. The in-depth development of our different characters, huge but sweet, short and clever, and the cute eggs reflect moments in our own daily lives and how we are all different. Our scooters will speak a common language with users which will amuse and delight. Our brand IPs also make appearances in our APPs, social media, and websites, creating a new language for communication in the world of oloo. You will never feel lonely again with their companionship.
