For my marketing class, my group and I were introduced to a local client, Mote Marine Lab, in Sarasota, Florida. Mote Marine Lab is a lo budgeted marine laboratory that spends its efforts trying to develop eco-friendly, farmed caviar whose profits entirely invested into other research projects the lab has. Mote was in need of a cost-free marketing campaign that will help market their caviar to a larger community. 

The class was develop within their groups a cost-free marketing campaign for Mote Marine Lab and their caviar that will help market themselves to a larger community. 

Part of project was to develop a concept for a viral video that the company could use to promote their product. For the animation, my group really wanted to show that Mote has a farm-fresh product that is eco-friendly and supports local business. We wanted to give it a younger look with 'hip' and bold graphics.

Another part of the project was to redesign the product's packaging. We wanted to incorporate the design of the animation into the design by keeping the same graphics, font and colors. 

 

Below are a selection of final can designs the company could select from.

We also wanted to change the functionality of the packaging itself. The can dimensions would stay the same, but it now comes with a recycled plastic divider that allows for easy proportions. The divider could be removed or kept in the can. 

The package would also come with a few spoons that makes the product easy to bring wherever needed without the hassle or worry of bringing a serving utensil. Below is the final design for the package's functionality.

Part of the package funtionality also went into developing a box that would allow the consumer an easier way of storing the product and seeing it on store shelves. The box would be made of recycled cardstock with a recycled foam-material that would be shaped to the can and spoons shape. The design of the can and animation would also go to the finished box design. Here is the finished design for the box.
