Identity/Packaging Design.
Tired of "soft" drinks that are anything but, Laytown Soda Co. put an emphasis on flavour over fizz. The logotype, with its rounded, low-contrast letterforms highlights their natural ingredients and fullness of flavour.
The 'T', which doubles as a parasol, pays homage to Laytown's seaside location but also proves that tropical tastes aren't half a world away.
A calm yet vibrant colour palette and rounded graphic elements combine
to promise fruity refreshment without an excessive sparkling sting.
This branding and packaging design brief, set by Dublin-based illustrator and designer
Conor Merriman, was undertaken as part of a college work placement with Limerick School
of Art and Design.
