Asphalt No 7. Skateboard Culture in Russia

ASPHALT No. 7. Summer/Autumn 2020

Asphalt Magazine is a skateboarding culture publication that sees skateboarding tropes shunned and new-found ways of representing the sporting subculture come into the fore.

The identity of the final issue is a combination of a clear typographic design, a playful logotype, amazing skate photos and a funny illustration. The issue starts with an ironic Cyrillic lettering on the cover, which indicates that skateboarding is a part of contemporary urban culture. The bright orange Pantone is similar to the color of the temporary city barriers and an uniform of the municipal workers, with whom skateboarders might sometimes encounter. Texts and photos are separated into two separated blocks to make reading more interactive.

200×270 mm, 124 pages, cover with flap, Russian.
