I. A Boy From Paper (original Slovenian title: »Fant iz papirja«) is a picture book written by Nejc Gazvoda, illustrated by Hana Jesih and published by HiBird Books in September 2021. Gazvod's literary debut in the field of youth literature tells in a metaphorical way what can happen when two very different worlds meet - the world of paper and the world of ink. The picture book encourages the acceptance of difference and the child's imagination of how to play with paper and ink.
III. The picture book has a hard binding with a flat back and it is made eco-friendly without plastic coating on the cover. We precisely set the structure of each colour used in illustrations, and for that reason we also chose appropriate paper for the best offset print results. The selected IQ Print paper has a FSC certificate.
IV. So far, the picture book received Special Recognition of the new path to innovation in addition to the nomination for the Kristina Brenkova Award for the original Slovenian picture book 2021. Read more about the book on our website.
V. In addition to the book there is A Boy From Paper’s Pocket made for those who are keen to explore the world of paper. Kids can make a boy from paper from two pieces of printed paper with some effort, scissors and tiny split pins. The boy becomes a paper puppet who can move his arms and legs!
