Technology is invading the landscape of the human body, replacing natural elements with man-made in hope of enhancement.  This transformation prompts us to ask the question, at what point are we still human?  Does our reliance on technology cheat us of the human experience?  I wish to portray the human in transit to a posthuman status in which synthetic is paramount to natural.

Technology proposes solutions yet also poses the threat of replacing the imperfectly beautiful parts of the human body and existence.  I intend to challenge the ideas of technological progress and advancement through garments that materialize the metamorphosis of human to machine.  Synthetic materials and encasing silhouettes alter the framework of the body and simulate the entrapment that might occur as a result of our perpetual contact with technology.

This collection is a visual dialogue between the natural body and the artificial. Several of the pieces are included in the fashion film titled LUCID by Ben Scott.
