Towards the end of 2020, I was approached by the Product Development team at Established & Sons to redesign the Product Manuals - a printed informational and instruction booklet customers receive with their orders. Not only did I have to consider sustainability in my design, I also had to design a manual which would work across print and digital, and was easy for customers to follow.
For tackling sustainability, I chose to use elasticated fabric bands for the binding as they can be removed and reused by the customer. Using this binding method also means the manual can be easily taken apart, for instance, if the customer wants to look at the instructions without having to flick through the booklet. For paper, I chose Cairn Eco Kraft and Conqueror Wove, both made from 100% recycled material.
