The Olympic Games are held every four years in different cities around the world.
It's a chance for athletes to compete with the best from around the world. Athletes repeat the same training for years or even decades to achieve their best result at the Olympics. This behavior is very much similar to natural weathering erosion which rocks are cut over hundreds, thousands, and tens of thousands of years and repeatedly weathered and eroded by external factors such as water, waves, and wind.

Cortina, where the 2026 Winter Olympics will be hosted, is located in the Dolomites alps. The Dolomites are renowned for skiing in the winter months. In summer and late spring is know for paragliding and hang gliding/early autumn. The rest of the year you can go mountain climbing, hiking, cycling, as well as base jumping. This mountain chain was formed tens of millions of years ago through weathering and erosion like other mountain chains in the world. The same goes for the efforts of athletes. They prepare for the Olympics, endure, persevere, and persist in the same routine repeated over and over till the Olympics.

This medal design is inspired by the Dolomites mountain chains. I tried to emphasize the dented traces that contain the athlete's constant and repeated practices also that includes hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. This medal is extruded by press machining and then precision machined by CNC and then hundreds of hammering processes are applied manually to the surface of the medal by skilled artisans.

Medal ribbons are made of Ocean Bound Plastic which sustainable material.
