"Death, Grief, and Faery: Peace" 30"x22" ink on paper
Part of a series surrounding my grief over my mother's death in 2020 (of cancer.) In it, I address my processing of this loss by drawing her spirit, Fae creatures, and myself interacting in various ways.
Pictured here is my mom (the winged fairy) kicking back with a cup of coffee while some house sprites work on baking something. With this piece I mean to honor her years spent as a devoted homemaker. She gets to relax now and let others take over. Also meant to inject a bit of cheer (and comic relief) into what has been a very serious series.
