This latest tribute artwork that I made for Django Unchained (now the releasing date is really close) is an homage to the Japanese Posters, especially those of the ’60s and ’70s. I tried to reproduce the same typographic vintage effect that the Japanese posters have in that period, then after treating images in black and white, I recolour it with flat tints and adds different filters and colour corrections to make them as similar as possible to the movie posters from that period. The other difficulty was to place the numerous elements in a harmonious and I must admit that it was not easy. For the Japanese characters, I searched the names of the actors on the Japanese Wikipedia, hope I have written everything correctly, otherwise, I hope I can be forgiven by the Japanese friends.

 

Quest’ ultimo artwork che ho realizzato per omaggare l’imminente uscita di Django Unchained, è un omaggio ai poster giapponesi e in particolar modo a quelli degli anni ’60 e ’70. Per realizzare questo manifesto, ho cercato di riprodurre lo stesso effetto tipografico che avevano i poster giapponesi di quegli anni, quindi dopo aver trattato le immagini in bianco e nero, ho dovuto ricolorarle con tinte piatte e implementarvi diversi effetti per renderle il più simili possibile a quelle riprodotte nei manifesti cinematografici di quel periodo. Per quanto riguarda i caratteri giapponesi, ho cercato i nomi degli attori sulla Wikipedia giapponese, spero di aver scritto tutto in maniera corretta, altrimenti spero possa essere perdonato dagli amici giapponesi.
