I had a phone call from the school principal. She asked me to create a new logo design. OK. Nothing special, you can say. But...
The organisation consists of two basic parts and each of them had a clear idea about its own symbol that would represent it. The kindergarten saw its symbol as a tree that they take care of to grow well, and the elementary school wanted to present itself by an apple as a fruit that the care brings. The task was to create a pictogram composed from these two elements, which will work well together in the main logo, but it will also be possible to use each of them separately for the logos of both components. This is not a very common entry, isn‘t it? Definitely a big challenge.

Creation process
For some time I was looking for ways how to graphically express the basic symbols. While sketching, I noticed that with big simplification of the form, they are actually quite similar and could be expressed by the same pictogram only turned towards each other by 180 degrees. And that opened the way for me to several proposals working with this principle, one of which became a winning design, and this principle is what makes it unique, I think.

There are all logos in horizontal and vertical versions.

I create a logo for School canteen too.
If you turn the pictogram just 90 degrees, it becomes a soup bowl with a spoon ;-)

This contract was interesting not only for its assignment, but also fot the contracting authority. Even tought it is a small village school, where the logo will probably never have any market value, they did not hesitate to contact the graphic designer. I see this as a very good signal for education, graphic design community and the culture of the nation in general.
I just hope my apple is different enough;-)
