We had the privilege to work with a smart material called "Photoluminescent paint". Developed and donated by Performance Indicator, this material is charged by UV radiation (or other radiation of higher frequency) and emits visible light in a wide range of colors. 15 minutes UV = 8-10 hours visible light. Given its interesting lighting abilities and durable quality, I incorporated it into a playground concept that is open at all times and to all ages, reintroducing active play, wonder, and discovery.
