MNM II Brand Identity

InDesign
Branding

Hungarian National Museum

As a first step in the brand process, I measured the mood and functions of the institution - to create the style of the logo, the main element of the identity.
The logo and the identity was made with a swiss typographic taste, the whole project reflects to the principles of Bauhaus.

The logo is made with eight lines, just as the museum has eight columns, the play of lines draws out the museum's initials MNM. The logo is made up of simple elements so it's easy to use on any surface, interpret at any size.

In the light of modernity, I chose a pedestal font (Neue Haas Grotesk), whose roots go back a long way, to reach the look of modern but timeless. In addition, this font can be used in both print and web applications in a variety of forms: for titles, highlights and descriptions - and the font has 22 weights, so it's easy to weight differences in text using the same font.

For the main colours of the logo, I chose complementary colours that radiate elegance and timelessness. White and black for the beginning and the end, blue for wisdom and knowledge and red for strength and nobility. You can also see how the colours can be used on the cards submitted.

The design elements are used on the website to form a whole. The logo can be used as a pattern for web and print design too.
