Philippe Halsman was a famous portrait photographer back in the 1930s. He did over 101 covers for Life magazine which brought him with many other famous people with a lot of different personalities. What makes me love this photo is how Alfred Hitchcock plays his part as a normal human being while the lady from the movie “birds” is getting attacked. It means something in a picture when one person shows emotion while the other one doesn’t and this is how Philippe got to know his client’s personalities.
