Libération - 40x60cm

This is an upgraded expression of the printed press aesthetics. Typographic composition is a field I love to explore since I saw Lou Dorfsman's wall for CBS for the first time. The idea is to give typography a dedicated field, where it can belong on its own, as an entire graphic entity. It's my ultimate type enthusiast way to dive into letters' anatomy, as I handtraced each and every glyph on this sheet. Tracing these lines is a practice that makes me high and calm. In one hand you must stay detail-oriented, in the other hand you have to keep focused on the global balance of the composition. Creativity comes from the main constraint : I can't change the size of the words. I tried several times to do it on Adobe Illustrator, but allowing myself to set the size, typeface, approach, thickness of each group of words made the composition impossible and disgraceful.

To step forward, this work should be given sense. News have to be meaningful after all, not just random words.

Poster - 40x60cm - Made on tracing paper, with 0.3mm, 0.5mm and B pens, and patience.
All words are extracted from "Libération", one of the main french daily newspapers, set in Libé family (bespoke by Production Type). Art Director : Nicolas Valoteau. Prints are available in 40x60cm and 50x70cm (write me @stanislasfleury on instagram)
In my dreams I saw the headquarters wear it on its facades
