Split complementary
This project is called Color Studies. We had to find a simple image, so I chose a banana as my image. We then had to create layers and swatches to improve our image. This color study above represents split complementary. Split complementary is a color scheme that takes up a base color and two secondary colors.
Monochrome
For this color study above, it represents a monochrome color scheme. Monochromatic colors are colors of a single hue. I went for the darkish red tones in this photo to create more of a dramatic look.
Triad
The color study in this photo represents a triad color scheme. A triadic color scheme is comprised of three colors evenly spaced on the color wheel.
Complementary
This last color study represents a complementary color scheme. Complementary colors are pairs of colors which, when combined or mixed, cancel each other out by producing a grayscale color like white or black.
