The Riviera, which was centered on Grasse, was a major flower-growing area for the perfume industry. A lovely Cherette is the charming allegory for flower-fresh scent here, bathed in Riviera-blue tones. Flowers and petals from her bouquet fall all around her, leaving a lovely, fragrant trail, similar to the perfume she is promoting.
