I spent two weeks on the cover of Port Sulphur Band's second album: The Sinner's Songbook. I worked closely with narrative designer and concept artist, it didn't take long for us to decide that we wanted to pose a sinner. Within the process we've tried a variety of offsets, as shown below: lacerated face, possessed eyes, centipede, black goo coming out of his mouth as "Everything coming out of the mouth is sin." Since it is not interesting enough I tried poppy pistil, yet it got more disgusting than terrified. 

In the end, we scratched all above and dwelled on the void. I hope you enjoy staring into his abyss as we do.
